Mogadishu, Wednesday September 19, 2018: The Executive Committee of the Somali Media Association (SOMA) following their meeting of today has strongly condemned the murder of yet another journalist in Galkacyo town, Somalia.
Abdirisaq Said Osman (Wadani) who was working for the Radio Voice of Peace in Galkacyo Town was among the many journalists killed in Somalia this year.
The late Radio Journalists has died at the hospital in Galkacyo town last night at midnight 12: 30 a.m., Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Caanogeel , Director of Radio Voice of Peace has reported.
According to hospital officials, the deceased Abdirisaq Said Osman who was thirty has died of internal bleeding after sustaining fatal injury with knife attack on his left shoulder and heart.
He was attacked at Israac district of Galkacyo town.
“Four persons suspected in the murder of the late journalists have been detained, and the case is under investigation.” Colonel Ahmed Mohamed Afrah, commander of the Galkacyo town police station has pointed out.
The late journalist has not left behind a wife and children.
The Somali Media Association (SOMA) condemns this terrible murder against our colleague journalist in the strongest terms possible and call the Somali authorities to investigate and bring the perpetrators to justice.
The Somali Media Association (SOMA) also sends its sympathies and condolences to the
families and friends of late Abdirisaq Said Osman (Wadani).

“We condemn the assassination act in the strongest terms possible and call for the Somali authorities to immediately probe the murder against our colleague and other civilians and bring the perpetrators to a court of law.” The Secretary General mentioned.
