The Somali Media Association (SOMA) has today started a safety training workshop at Adaado City, the transitional capital of Galmudug State.
The 3 –day training program will be in progress from 20th, 21st and 22nd December 2017.
The main participants of the training workshop are eleven journalists selected from eleven radio stations operating in Galkacyo, Guriel, Dhuusamareeb and Adaado.
Ministers and MPs from the Galmudg Regional State attended in the opening session of the safety training program include Abdullahi Omar, MPs and Abdirahman Jama Afrah, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Information of Galmudg State and other officials.
Mr. Abdirahman Jama Afrah, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Information of Galmudg State in his opening remarks for the safety training workshop has welcomed the training initiative and suggested SOMA to conduct similar training at other cities of Galmudug State.
In conclusion, Ahmed Isse Guutaale, Head of SOMA Training Sector speaking at the opening session urged the participating journalists to take advantage from this valuable opportunity which they rarely get.
The Somali Media Association (SOMA) consisting of 38 member media stations is conducting this training workshop in partnership with IMS/FOJO.
