The Somali Media Association SOMA (EX NETWORK 2013) strongly condemns the murder of Radio Shabelle journalist in Mogadishu. Abdi Aziz Mohamed Ali Haghi, a producer at Radio shabelle was killed in Mogadishu’s Yaqshid district on Tuesday 27 September 2016 around 6:00 PM. Unknown gunmen shot the journalist several times on the head and chest before they escaped the scene using a tuktuk. The journalist died on the spot. In partnership with the United Nation Education, Science and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the Somali Media Association (SOMA) has implemented one-day training workshop on Safety Protocol in Mogadishu, Somalia. The training workshop held at Makkah Al Mukaramah Hotel in Mogadishu on August 25, 2016 was part of the program on strengthening the Media Houses and their Media Workers members of the Somali Media Network operating in Mogadishu.
