The Somali Media Association (SOMA) welcomes the release of Hanad Abdi Farah

The Somali Media Association (SOMA) welcomes the release of Hanad Abdi Farah on Monday afternoon Januray 15, 2018.

Director of Radio Voice of Mudug in Galkacayo Hanad Abdi Farah was released from custody after three days of detention at the Police Station in Galkacayo without charge.
“SOMA thanks its members in Galkacyo town for their tireless efforts to secure the release of Hanad Abdi Farah. We also like to thank all colleagues who contributed his release” Mohamed Abdiwahab SOMA Secretary General said.
SOMA calls for Galmudug Administration and the government of Somalia to respect the media and the freedom of expression which are among the most fundamental freedoms and rights of our constitution.
Radio Voice of Mudug is one of SOMA member media centers unified under the Somali Media Association (SOMA) that are operational in Galkacy district.
The Somali Media Association (SOMA) believes in freedom of expression and opinion peacefully, therefore, we call all the regional governments to respect the media centers and staff journalists that are working in the districts and cities under their control.
We suggest the resolution for all differences and misunderstanding regarding the media to be addressed in a peaceful way for the possibility of establishing a government based on patience and respect.
SOMA is an association under which at least 40 media Centers in Puntland, Galmudug , Hirshabelle, Banadir Jubbaland and South West of Somalia are united
