He was killed by bomb attached to his car which exploded while he was passing at the fish market near the main market at Wadajir district, Mogadishu. Twenty- one radio journalist reporters and editors from the different radio station members of the Somali Media Association (SOMA) based in Mogadishu, Balad, Galkacyo, Doolow, Bardheere, Baidoa, Bosaso, Abudwaq, Adado and Dhuusamareeb were the main participants of the Radio Production Training Program.
